Poorly made case on her part.

Nice try Chris, sadly she doesn't have a clue how the world works. But she did listen .

This group is going after the insurance industry backwards. Use the money that they can raise to go after abuses by insurance but don't help an assassin of a CEO. That isn't going to help people deal with a monumentally messed up health care system. They are giving the wrong message and rather riding the coattails of a murderer.

In the old days, one had to tell a story with balance, providing both sides to the story. Now you can give a podium to a fringe person when the voices of the family who lost their loved one to a cold blooded murderer, are lost. You wonder why the world has gone sideways?

Everything went sideways 1. When the Supreme Court withdrew the Fairness Doctrine, and 2. When cable television had paid channels and people could pay to watch what they wanted on specialized channels without being required to adhere to the Fairness Doctrine.

Not precisely on target but within relevant vicinity, if the 1% wants to keep lobbying and keep anyone disruptive of their status quo at bay, consider how Sargon of Ancient Mesopotamia would relocate people after he conquered them and lead their king out the front gates in front of everyone so they could see him humiliate ther king. Once relocated they would be worn down by the move and being driven from the familiar routines and support networks they had grown to expect, completely CRUSHING all of their expectations for survival, earning a living and depriving them of all orientation and knowledge.

When one buys coverage for emergency or illness, the anticipated benefit of the bargain is what a reasonable person would expect for coverage, but the courts and the law now say that THE INSURANCE PROVIDER under agreements through an employer should basically be the one who determines what is reasonable.

This was originally decided to ENCOURAGE employers to provide health insurance because then insurers would give them coverage that they could AFFORD for their employees...talk to any insurance appeals attorney.

People are worn down, shocked and humiliated, just as was done by Sargon.

Where did this lady get that 190,000 people per year die due to our broken healthcare? Looking online I see 23-40k for no insurance and about 3million people die each year in the USA. Can’t find this 190k figure.

She didn't think this interview through full before coming on. I do feel for her but her thoughts are not well thought through. It's kind of like the Occupy Movement, which fell flat. It fell flat because it wasn't really organized in thought. It became a Free For All and did nothing. Burning bills in front of a company does nothing. Seize the moment, sure, but not like this.

Completely disagree with you Chris. She is trying to ride the wave of discontent revealed by the assassination. I believe every avenue needs to be explored and pushed. I wish her the best of luck.

Dear Chris, I hope you read this. Part of the reason so many people are siding with Luigi is because he fits the stereotype of an outlaw, like Billy the Kid and partly because, on the murdered healthcare CEO's side, there are no voices, no grieving wife, no pics of the children who no longer have their father. The life that was taken execution style by this hero is forgotten like a deleted email. Why do you even give a podium to this person without including the other side of the story?

She’s a pig and a scourge to this nation of laws. This is a very slippery slope to go down and she doesn’t see that but hey, she’s getting her 15 minutes of fame.

Use the money to tell the stories of helpless people crushed by the corporate blindness to their humanity and to reward people in a contest of solutions.

I love when you say words like Chooch I haven’t heard in years. I worked at a Fortune 500 Medical Company. From what I understand about insurance is they have so much money to spend on each individual. They actually have a list of a breakdown of the body that they are willing to pay for. For example if you need a heart operation they allot for only so much. Sometimes the Hospital will negotiate the cost but the insurance company has to check their budget and see if they can put out more funds. I’ve seen where a patient only had allotted 10 days after the 10 days the hospital staff ask the patient if they have family to pick them up. I’ve literally walked past a gurney with a patient on it being pushed outside, waiting for someone to pick him up. He sat there for a few hours then someone from the staff called a taxi to pick him up because they needed the gurney. The insurance companies want a fast turn around that’s why you’ll hear someone going into the ER they send him/her home and the person dies. If you have no insurance many hospitals will tell you to go to a government paid hospital. You see Urgent care facilities have popped up but they can’t really treat you they are more of a bandaid. Someone should look into Medicare billing. If you buy diabetic shoes through a doctor they are one price but if you have Medicare the price goes up 3 times. Why? Many doctors say they only are allotted so much money from Medicare so they raise the price to get refunded what the doctor paid and a bit more. Many doctors play a Medicare price game that should be looked into. I brought this up to an attorney I worked for when I worked at the Fortune 500 medical company he told me not to get involved. If anything should be regulated it should be medical costs. Why should anyone who gets an aspirin in the Hospital be charged $10 for one pill? My suggestion is if you wind up in a Hospital take notes of when and time you got medications plus what they gave you, when you ate and even names of people who came and went from your room. Make notes on your phone. When you get home and get a bill ask for a detailed bill. Hospitals don’t like it but get the detailed bill and go over it with the notes from your phone. You could negotiate with the hospital. A Hospital trick a doctor will pop his head in and ask how you’re doing? Respond with are you checking to be nice or checking as a doctor? Reason many times you’ll see a doctor on your bill and say to yourself who’s this guy? The Hospital will say he’s a doctor who checked on you. When you see new doctors or technicians in the Hospital room as who and what they are doing there. Remember hospitals only pay some nurses and nurse assistants not doctors. Doctors and technicians usually bill you separately.
